Outfit Post: The Witching Hour

As promised, a little outfit post inspired by the movie "The Craft"... taken down by the sea on a (very) windy day with the lovely Saibh... as you can see I didn't go all out Catholic-schoolgirl-meets-gothic-grunge ala the Craft girls in this outfit, I think its better to take elements of that look and make it your own.... but I did make an effort with the crazy expressions!... although it never does seem to take any effort form me to make those....
as you can see I also finally got my beloved sheer maxi skirt I was hunting after all those posts ago... Rejoice!
LONG SLEEVED CROP- TOP:TOPSHOP
SHEER MAXI SKIRT: PENNEYS/PRIMARK

Kickin' it at the ZOO!

"Goin' to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo,
How about you, you, you?..."

A little outfit post from my trip to the Zoo in Barcelona with the boy... chanting our Zoo song all the way, we were very excited indeed...
and can I just say, it was the best Zoo ever!
Ive been to a few different Zoos before and usually the animals are pretty docile and kinda boring, but something must have been in the water here (or maybe its the hotter climate?) cause all the animals were kickin' off! Giraffes cantering around a peacock in their enclosure trying to squash him, Lamas making a go for my crisps, and dont even get me started on the monkeys, they were having a right aul' party for themselves!

anyhow I thought the appropriate attire for a trip to the Zoo would be my brightest most kidddish threads, including my FAVOURITEST TEE SHIRT EVER, this cosmic print number from Asos, seriously it cheers me up just looking at it, the print is so luminous, you lie it flat and it looks like some sort of watercolour painting!

NEBULA TEE: ASOS
SHORTS: PRIMARK
FEATHER HEADBAND(AS BELT): PRIMARK
SHOES:CONVERSE

Go Panda Go

on Thursday I went to see Go Panda Go play in the Roisín Dubh. They're a cracking Irish band and played a great set (not just saying that because my boyfriend Yoseph is their drummer, honest!)
sad i missed the support act which was my other friends Elaine and Laurie, but i'll certainly catch them again

check out one of GPG's short videos, starring my wonderful friends Emma and Naomi, who have been away studying in France or the year and are coming home soon, cannot wait to see those girls!!

But don't worry dear readers, Im not just using this as an excuse to plug Go Panda Go (cause they really don't need any plugging!)...

Im also doing an outfit post, Huzzah!

NECKLACE:TOPSHOP
ARROW-HEAD NECKLACE: HOME-MADE
TURQUOISE RING: PENNEYS
SHORTS: NEW LOOK
LEATHER JACKET: ZARA
SATIN SHIRT: NEW LOOK

I'm getting really into the ripped shorts look recently, they go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe and give a lovely grungy effect, I only wish they were more distressed though, but they'd be practically non-existent if i cut them any more!

also would be going tightless only for the gammy weather, cant wait for the sunshine and the chance for bare legs again, bitta sally h. spray and you're ready to rock!

apologies for not showing the shoes, I completely forgot, and they are one of my favourite pairs and all, no matter, i'll show them to you all again!
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend,
Peace,
Wide Eyed Fire Child,

Hotel Rooms with Big Mirrors

a little impromptu (and slightly silly/tipsy) outfit post before heading out to meet my friend Paula for drinks in the Garage Bar...
waiting in the hotel room while the boy's band (Lost Chord gig in Whelans)do their soundcheck can get a little boring, and how could I resist with those big ol' mirrors?

How could I indeed!

I adore this shrug/bolero/blazer creation which I found on sale in H&M in London for a glee-inducing £2.... its so floaty and light... and rather McQueen-esque no?

My dress is actually a strapless top with the support part at the top unfolded to lengthen it, its made of that elastic material that really hugs your body, so it makes for one mean LBD :)

I also love this indian belly dancing chain that I found on ebay, its more than a little bit awesome, and surprisingly goes with everything... plus it makes a really light tinkling noise when I wiggle my hips!
:D
I have collected a few nice pieces of ethnic/tribal jewelery that I use to inject a bit of personality into my outfits,I guess I like that they have a story to them...

TOP(WORN AS DRESS): NEW LOOK
BELLY CHAIN: EBAY
SHRUG: H&M
TIGHTS:PENNEYS

Ps: sorry about lack of shoes, was slightly tipsy and had been jumping on the bed, and acting the maggot in general, hurrah! :D
