NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE
Dean Harris, Prof. Chandni, Boris, and Lorraine celebrated New Year's Eve in grand style. While we didn't have Lucas Malvacini Mister Brazil 2011 to party with (he was busy with some New Year's Eve or Réveillon or whatever they call it photoshoot), we more than made do with Beauty School star graduates Mister Bulgaria 2006 Ali Aliev and Mister Lleida 2011 Alberto Roig. Party-boy that he is, Boris led the way to where he works part-time, Discothéque Aziyadé and Club Al-Ándalus, just off Highway One, where Ali and Alberto were the star attractions, respectively, not to mention a certain bartender and DJ. Oh, and by the way, given the massive hang-overs these BS faculty members and staff have, the holiday break has been extended by a few days - classes will resume on Thursday.
Mister Bulgaria and Mister Lleida get the party started!

MISTER LAS PALMAS 2011
The new Mister Las Palmas 2011 is Mister No+Vello Raúl Blanco Cañeque, 22 and 1m93. He won the title just hours ago and now has a ticket to Mister Spain 2012. Runners-up were Mister Bentayga Aarón Viera Herrera, Mister Parque Marítimo Miguel Galindo Rodríguez, Mister Maspalomas José Luís Angulo Pérez, Mister CC Las Terrazas Mario Montes Rodríguez, and Mister Lanzarote Acorán Josué Machín de León, who also garnered the Mister Elegancia title.

The grand, gala elections of Miss and Mister Las Palmas 2011-2012 are today (Mister Las Palmas) and tomorrow (Miss Las Palmas). Who will win? The representatives from Las Palmas are typically very competitive at Miss and Mister Spain. Mister Las Palmas 2009-2010 Carlos Alberto García won the Mister Spain 2010 title, and Miss Las Palmas 2010-2011 came in second at this year's Miss Spain 2011 contest. On Thursday evening (15 December), the contestants participated a very sexy, very appropriately titled "Moda Cálida" fashion show. (Photos: C7)

Remi Diaz, 29, 1m94, and a firefighter, is 2011's Nueva Cara Men's Health. His glorious chest will be splashed across the cover of the Spanish edition of the magazine's January issue. In addition, he won a cash prize of 6,000 euros and an exclusive modeling contract with Sight Management. Beauty School just loves these contests that the various national editions of Men's Health conducts. Men's Health Brazil held their first one this year, and Men's Health Poland and Men's Health Ukraine are in the midst of holding their contests. Those Beauty School scholars who are doing their thesis on male pageant topics might remember Remi as the splendid Mister Ourense at Mister Spain 2010. He also represented Galicia at this year's Rey y Reina Belleza España. This is the third year in a row that a Mister Spain contestant has won the Concurso Nueva Cara Men's Health. In 2010, Francisco (Paco) Talavera, Mister Cadiz 2009-2010, won. In 2009, Fran Fiol, Mister Iles Balears 2009-2010, won. Furthermore, all three of these winners competed in Mister Spain 2010 together!
